DOC NYC’s 2026 Lifetime Achievement honoree Alex Gibney delivers his most epic work, profiling the world’s first trillionaire, Elon Musk. How did the tech bro shift from a clean energy champion into an international right-wing megafunder? Gibney examines the dark sides of Tesla, Twitter, SpaceX, Starlink, Grok, the Department of Government Efficiency, and other ventures, interviewing Musk’s former business and romantic partners. The film is “a lacerating portrait of technocratic brilliance, power, lust, and crackpot delusion” (Owen Gleiberman, Variety).
The first screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Alex Gibney.
All in-person screening venues provide sound amplification headphones upon request with venue management. IFC Center can also provide a T-Coil loop for compatible devices.
